Oh, the joys of pregnancy! There's the gassiness, constipation, queasiness, and exhaustion, the forgetfulness, crankiness, and the constant worry. Of course, no woman is spared the discomforts and humiliations of pregnancy, but most are too polite to complain or too embarrassed to talk about them. Not Jenny McCarthy!

In the New York Times best-selling Belly Laughs, actress and new mother Jenny McCarthy reveals the naked truth about the tremendous joys, the excruciating pains, and the unseemly disfigurement that go along with pregnancy. Never shy, frequently crude, and always laugh-out-loud funny, McCarthy covers it all in the grittiest of girlfriend detail. From morning sickness and hormonal rage, to hemorrhoids, pregnant sex, and the torture and sweet relief that is delivery, Belly Laughs is must-read comic relief for anyone who is pregnant, who has ever been pregnant, is trying to get pregnant, or indeed, has ever been born!

This book takes an honest look at pregnancy with plenty of humor thrown in. I felt like Jenny was a friend telling me the points on being preggers that no one else would. Will for sure pass on to my friends!!

 "scary truth" 2010-01-25

While I was disappointed at how short each section was it was also enough to scare the sh@* out of me as we are just now starting to plan for a baby. It's so funny and truthfull I learned things I never knew. This is not a book to gain what-to-do knowledge, it's simply things that a pregant women might experience and since every womens body is different your expierence may not be exactly as Mrs. McCarthy's was. I'm glad I read this book and will be reading her other 2 books in the series.

 "Over the top" 2010-01-15
By Linda M. (PA, USA)
I like Jenny McCarthy and was looking forward to reading this book. However, I was disappointed that she portrayed herself as a total mess. Plus, some of the stories didn't come across as believable. It just seemed like she was over-exaggerating actual stories or well, she really is a total mess. All pregnant women are not insane!

"Just Okay...to me it wasn't funny but an easy read" 2010-01-15
By Anastasia Harrison (Sacramento, CA USA)
The only part I thought was funny was the last two pages written for the baby daddy (my husband). The rest is not typical of a baby book as far as the writing goes - written to be funnd. It wasn't funny to me. She is very straight forward, very honest and frank... I had no issues with it just thought it wasn't funny. I enjoyed reading it. Read it in less than a day. It is a very short book. Lots of blank pages throughout so there really isn't much content and no real medical facts rather pregnancy from a celebrity mom's perspective. Throughout I kept thinking she is just a dumb blonde that is all about image and looks - I know I am very cruel but that is what impression I got. I feel bad she had such a rough pregnacy and labor. My pregnancy so far has been fairly easy so could not relate to alot of her horror stories (knock on wood). It is worth the $10 and worth reading for entertainment.
